Aoyama Area Overview
In the stylish area of Aoyama, there are many fashionable shops and cafes lining Aoyama-Dori Street and Kotto-Dori Street. The housing environment is nice with an abundance of urban greenery adjacent to many upper class areas such as Shibuya, Omotesando, and Akasaka.
The area was developed around Aoyama-itchome Station on the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line. Transportation is convenient as the area is next to Shibuya, Omotesando, and Harajuku. The Aoyama area also has convenient access to Ginza and Nihonbashi by way of the Metro Ginza Line.
Many stylish boutiques, restaurants, coffee shops, and antique shops are dotted along Aoyama-Dori Street; which makes this area popular not only among Japanese but also among foreigners as a town for trendy people. The head offices of major domestic and foreign companies also line the street. As many embassies and facilities catering to foreign residents’ needs are in the area, many foreign expat families also reside here.
The Aoyama 1-chome area is an elegant residential area situated in an environment among plenty of greenery as it is adjacent to the Akasaka Detached Palace and Jungu Gaien.
Many graceful, luxurious houses and apartments can be found as close as a single step away from the street. While most of the apartments here are relatively low-rise, high-rise apartments such as Park Axis Aoyama 1-Chome Tower, Aoyama Daiichi Mansions, and Aoyama The Tower stand out as landmarks.
